9. Checking and setting the mechanics

Once you have completely equipped the helicopter, you can program the remote control and then check and adjust
the mechanics.
a) Setting of tooth backlash
First loosen the two attachment screws (1) of the brushless
motor.
Then slide a small strip of paper (2) in between the main
cogwheel (3) and the motor pinion (4).
Turn the moor by hand until the paper strip is pulled in
between the two cogwheels. Now carefully push the motor
towards the main cogwheel and tighten the attachment
screws again. Then remove the paper strips again.

b) Checking and setting the belt tension

You have achieved the right belt tension if you can press
one side of the drive belt (1) with a small screwdriver (2)
inwards towards the center (about 3mm) starting at the
front edge of the tail pipe without using excessive force.
To change the belt tension, loosen the four attachment
screws (4) on the left and right on the tailpipe support (3).
Then loosen the screws on the elevator unit (see ill. 7,
pos. 7).
Now you can shift the entire tail pipe to the front or the
back to set the correct belt tension.
Finally, tighten all screws again.
Important!
When performing this adjustment work, make sure
that the tailpipe is not twisted, which leads to a slanted
tail rotor.
