h) Practical flight tips for the first start
Even if the model needs little space to fly, we recommend a free space of about 3 x 3 m for your first flights.
The surface should be flat (tiles, parquet floor, PVC etc.), so you can see right after takeoff if the model drifts into a
certain direction.
Position yourself directly behind your helicopter. As long as you look at you model from behind, it will react to the
control commands right, left, forward, backward exactly as you are looking. If the cockpit of the model points towards
you, it moves into the opposite direction of your steering commands.
i) Trimming the helicopter
Push the pitch stick (see ill. 1, pos. 8) carefully forward and observe the response of your model. Shortly before the
helicopter starts hovering, you can already determine in what direction your model is about to move.
If the helicopter turns to the right with the tip of the fuselage,
reduce the speed and push the trim slider for the tail
function (see ill. 1, pos. 7) gradually to the left.
Push the pitch stick carefully forward and check if the
adjustment made is sufficient.
Keep repeating this procedure until the helicopter no longer
has any tendency to turn to the right.
If the tip of the fuselage turns to the left, carry out a right
trim adjustment.
