Maintenance and cleaning
The print mechanism can become hot during printing. Do not touch them during operation
and allow them to cool down before changing the media or before removal or adjustment.

Tools and cleaning agents
For adjustments and easy installation, use the hexagonal wrench provided, which is
located in the bottom section of the print unit (see Figure 4-1 on page 4-2, item 2). No
other tools are required for the work described here.
4.1.3
Cleaning the print head
Substances may accumulate on the print head during printing and adversely affect the print
image, e.g. differences in contrast or vertical stripes.
ACHTUNG: Clean print head correctly

Do not use sharp objects (knives, screwdrivers, etc.) to clean the print head.

The print head has a protective glass layer at the top. Do not touch this protective
layer with your hand.
•
Switch off the THERMOMARK X1.2.
•
Make sure that the print mechanism has cooled down.
•
Turn lever (1, Figure 2-2 on page 2-5) counter clockwise to lift the print head.
•
Remove labels and ink ribbon from the printer.
•
Clean the print head surface with a cotton swab dipped in pure alcohol.
•
Allow print head to dry for 2 to 3 minutes before starting up the printer.
