Washing tips
Sorting the laundry
Follow the care symbols in the fabrics.
Do not wash laundry with the following care symbol in
the machine:
Do not wash
Sort the laundry by fabric type and degree of soiling.
Wash white and colored laundry separately; otherwise,
white laundry becomes gray.
Do not wash new coloreds with other laundry: Danger
of coloring!
Knitwear made wholly or partly from wool must also
be labelled «non-felting» or «machine washable», other-
wise there is a risk of felting during the washing process!
Check that brassieres are machine washable.
CAUTION
Textiles with metal reinforcements can damage the
com-ponents of the machine and must not be washed
in the washing machine.
Preparing the laundry
Remove foreign bodies such as safety pins, paper clips,
coins etc from the laundry.
Wash brassieres with stiffeners in a fine-mesh laundry
bag. This prevents stiffeners from loosening during
washing, falling through drum perforations and conse-
quently causing damage.
Brush out sand from the pockets and turn-ups.
Close zips, hooks, eyelets and Velcro closures.
Turn trousers, knitwear or knitted fabrics, e.g. jerseys,
T-shirts, sweatshirts inside out.
Loosen folded pieces, unbutton bedclothes and
cushions, and knot long cords.
Wash laundry with cords and particularly tricky items
in mesh bags. Put at least 1.5 kg textiles in a laundry
mesh bag. Observe the prescribed load quantity when
you use mesh bags.

WASHING IN ST RUC TIONS
Environmentally compatible washing
Save water, energy, detergent and time by doing with-
out pre-washing for normally soiled laundry.
Your washing machine will operate most efficiently
and most environmentally friendly if you fill it with the
maximum laundry quantity. Small loads are uneconomical
and result in increased wear of laundry and machine.
Do not exceed the maximum loading quantities!
Overloading the machine can affect the laundry result
and damage textiles.
