Water hardness

Water hardness plays an essential role in washing.
Ask your municipal authorities about the degree of
hardness of your water:
French hardness °fH
Soft
Medium
Hard

Detergents

All detergents customary for washing machines can be
used:
- Powder detergents
- Compact detergents (concentrated)
- Tablets (Tabs)
- Liquid detergents
 Follow the dosing recommendations on the laundry
packaging. The quantities shown refer respectively to a
full drum load: Reduce the detergent quantity by one-
third for smaller laundry loads
Rule of thumb: If during the washing a foam layer of the
approximate thick ness of 2 cm above the washing liquid
and / or laundry surface is detected, the dosing quantity
has not been selected properly.

 Reduce the quantity of
detergent in accordance with

Detergent dosing with the heating variant
«Direct steam»
The wash water in the tub increases due to condensing
of steam.
 Increase the detergent quantity by ¼ (dose disinfect-
ants correspondingly higher).
Water softeners
With a degree of hardness from «average» to «hard»,
you can add a special softener (pay attention to the
package instructions!).
 Dose detergents according to the hardness level
«soft».
 First add the detergent and then the softener into
the same cup. The agents are rinsed in best using this
method.
Stain removal
Remove stains directly while they are fresh, or treat
stains at least before the laundry is washed in the
washing machine. Dried stains (especially due to the
effects of sunlight) are difficult to impossible to
remove.
 Use water, soap, hard soap or pre-wash agents for
pre-treating the water: Dab it on, slightly rub it in and
let it soak, then rinse the textile.
 In this way it is possible to completely or almost com-
pletely remove many typical household stains like gravy,
coffee, chocolate, wine, fat, oil, fruit juices, blood, etc.
Notice
Stains which have not been pre-treated may be fix in
the textiles during the wash process. Then it will be
almost impossible to remove them or only by means of a
strong bleaching agent.
It may sometimes be necessary to pretreat, wash or
soak textiles several times in order to remove tenacious
and dried stains.
Disinfectants
Do not dose disinfectants in the cups 4 or 5 (danger of
corrosion of detergent drawer).
 Use the listed disinfecting agents for the disinfection
programmes.
