Transport and care

The voltage detector must be stored in a dry place in a storage device, protective cover or sto-
rage box.
Clean soiled PHE voltage detectors using a lint-free, damp cloth (e.g. washleather) before
and after use. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents. PHE voltage detectors must be
handled carefully.

Accessories

Only use the original accessory parts as specified and shown in our Safety Equipment catalogue.

8.

Maintenance

8.1 Battery replacement (see Fig. 8, page 11)
8.1.1 Loosen the screws 1, 2, 3 and 4.
8.1.2 Remove the cover 5.
8.1.3 Remove the battery compartment 6 from the battery room.
8.1.4 Replace used batteries by new ones (observe battery symbols in the battery compartment).
The following batteries may be used:
4 Mignon cell alkaline manganese 1.5 V (IEC LR 6: alkaline manganese), leak-proof, for
example:
- Duracell Alkaline No. MN1500
- Ucar Alkaline No. E91
- Energizer/Hi-Energy Lithium No. L91
Used batteries must be disposed of in an environmentally-friendly manner.
8.1.5 Insert the battery compartment into the battery room (spring contacts must press against the
contacts in the battery compartment).
8.1.6 Press cover 5 in again and tighten it using screws 1, 2, 3 and 4 (do not remove screw and
cover sealing).
Ensure that the correct cover for the relevant voltage detector is used.
Do not mix up covers, for example when replacing the batteries of several voltage detectors at
the same time.
8.1.7 Perform a functional test according to 5.1.
8.1.8 Regularly check the condition of the batteries (e.g. every three months) and make sure that
they have not leaked. If lithium batteries are used (see 8.1.4), the test intervals can be
extended.
