15. Troubleshooting

Even though the model has been built with the latest available technology, malfunctions or faults may still occur. We
would, therefore, like to show you how to correct potential faults. Follow the enclosed operating instructions for the
remote control system as well.
The model does not respond or does not respond correctly
• In the case of 2.4 GHz remote control systems, the receiver must be connected to the transmitter. This process
is known as "pairing". The manufacturer pairs the remote control with the receiver before the vehicle is shipped.
However, you can also pair the remote control yourself. See section 12 for more information.
• Is the drive battery or the transmitter batteries empty? Replace the drive battery or transmitter batteries.
• Did you switch on the transmitter first and then the speed controller? For safety reasons, the speed controller does
not function if this is done in reverse order.
• Is the drive battery correctly connected? Check the plug connection to see if it is dirty or rusted.
• Is the vehicle too far away? With a full drive battery and full batteries in the transmitter, a transmission range of
100 m and more should be possible. However, this can be reduced by outside influences, such as interference
on the radio frequency or the proximity of other transmitters (not only remote control transmitters, but also WLAN/
Bluetooth
devices that also use a transmission frequency of 2.4 GHz), of metal parts, buildings, etc.).
®
The vehicle doesn't stop when the throttle/brake lever is released
• Correct the trim for the drive function on the transmitter (set in the neutral position), see section 11. c).
The vehicle travels slowly or the steering servo does not respond properly to transmitter commands; the
range between the transmitter and the vehicle is very short
• The drive battery is nearly empty.
The power supply to the receiver and the power supply to the steering servo is provided through the speed control-
ler's BEC. Therefore, a weak or empty drive battery will cause the receiver to not function correctly. Replace the
drive battery with a new fully charged drive battery (before inserting a new drive battery, wait 5 minutes so that the
motor and drive battery can cool down sufficiently).
• Check the batteries in the transmitter.
The vehicle slows down or comes to a standstill while being driven
• The drive battery is nearly empty.
• The distance to the transmitter is too big, the receiver's fail-safe function is activated (the motor is switched off for
safety reasons).
The vehicle does not travel in a straight line
• Set the directional stability on the transmitter using the corresponding trim function for the steering, see section
11. d).
• Was there an accident? If so, check the vehicle for any defective or broken parts and replace them if necessary.
