Operation

Switching on the hob and cooking zones

1. Press the ON/OFF button
appears. The controls are ready for operation.
2. Then immediately use the plus button
to select a cooking level.
The plus button switches the cooling levels on in a
sequence.
Pressing the minus button will set the hob at the automatic
parboiling mode at power setting 9 (see to the section on
"Automatic parboiling mode").
3. The cooking zones may now be used for cooking.

4. a) Press the minus button

b) press the minus button
at the same time. The cooking zone is switched off direct
irrespective of the power setting or
c) press the ON/OFF button
switched off (all of the cooking zones are switched off).
The hob is switched off when the H symbol is displayed tempo-
rarily or when the cooking level display is off.

Glow from the radiant heating elements

Please note:
• The heating under the cooking zones is regulated by switching
it on and off. The heating elements will switch off more
frequently at a low cooking setting and at a high setting less
frequently.
• The bright/dark times (red glow or switched off) also depend
on the temperature of the ceramic glass and on the cookware/
food that is on the cooking zone. This so-called clocking which
occurs for technical reasons is quite normal and has no influ-
ence on the cooking or grilling procedure.
Two-circuit connection (only for models
with two circuits)
The outer heating circuit can be switched on too.
• Activate a cooking setting.
• Press the two-circuit button
also switched on. The control lamp above the two-circuit
button will light up.
• In order to switch the function off press the two-circuit button
again or switch the cooking zone off.

Keeping warm function

With the function for keeping food warm
the cooking zones to keep food warm. The respective cooking
zone is operated at a low power level.
1. Press the ON/OFF button

Automatic boost function (when using
pots and pans)
Parboiling takes place at power level 9 with the automatic boost
function. After a certain time the power level will switch down
automatically to a lower simmering setting (1 to 8).
When using the automatic boost function only the simmering set-
ting with which the food is to be cooked through needs to be
selected since the electronic unit switches down automatically.
The automatic boost function is suitable for dishes which are cold
initially and are then heated up at high power. These dishes do
not need to be constantly monitored when simmering (e.g. boiling
meat for soups).
1. Press the ON/OFF button
2. Press the minus button

Instructions
Set the cooking level display at 0 to discontinue the automatic
parboil mode.
If the required cooking level is selected after the decimal point
has switched off, the automatic boost function will not be acti-
vated.
