6 Operation
To configure the LFP, the cover has to be taken off. In the opened
status, enclosure ratings IP67 and IP69K are not ensured. In the
closed status, the LFP meets the conditions of enclosure ratings
IP67 and IP69K. The order number and the serial number are
under the cover, on the side on the display holder.
6.1 Commissioning procedure
Bevor starting the commissioning procedure, please check if the
probe is mounted in the correct way and if the probe is clean. The
display shows the message CalPls (Calibration Please). At first the
sensor has to be adapted to installation situation. To set the LFP
to the application via the display, the set pushbutton has to be
pressed for at least three seconds. Then the AutCal menu item will
be shown. The AutCal menu is password protected. To get access
please follow the menu „password" in chapter 6.3 Menu overview and description.
Before you activate this function, be sure that the container is empty or that the probe 750 mm is not
covered by liquid, starting from the entry of the probe in the tank. Please activate the AutCal function
by pressing the set pushbutton twice. When this is done, the sensor adapts to its installation condi-
tions. This adaptation takes a few seconds and is confirmed by the LFP with "Cal. OK". If the instal-
lation requirements for LFP have changed or the probe was shortened, the AutCal function has to be
started again. The activation of AutCal function is absolutely required. This function also improves the
measurement accuracy. Then the message disapears CalPls (Calibration please) on the display. As a
next step please teach in the value EchoGn (see chapter 6.3 Menu overview and description). If you
now want to set the signal outputs, use the arrow buttons to select the desired menu (see chapter
6.3 Menu overview and description). After five minutes inactivation the display leaves automatically
the menu (MEN) and returns to RUN mode.
All length specifications in the menu are based at the end of the probe.
