Operating instructions
Centering: To prevent contact between the probe and the bypass pipe during oscillations, the probe
should be centered according to its length and depending on the diameter of the bypass pipe. In
bypass installation, the centering must be mounted below the bottom nozzle, the shut-off between
the pipe and the container must be secured against accidental closing. The use of LFP in bypass and
immersion tube systems are not hygienic, because these systems are very difficult to clean.
The installation conditions such as tank geometry, tank diameter, welds in the tank, tank nozzle and
tank contructions may affect the accuracy of the sensor. The user has to test the functionality of the
sensor with the monitored medium.

5 Connection type and diagram

The sensor is connected via a ready-made cable socket with M12x1 plug, 5-pins. Plug in the cable
socket without power onto the sensor and screw it tight. Connect the cable in accordance with its
function. After application of the supply voltage, the sensor carries out a self-test – in an installed
state, the sensor is ready for operation after the self-test has been concluded (< 2 s) – the display
shows CalPls (Calibration Please). The WHG-signal output Q2-WHG has during the self test/initializa-
tion time for ca. 300 ms a signal level of about 4.4 volts at a max. output load of 2 kOhm and 24 V
Supply voltage (see diagram 3).
If the container is not grounded or insufficiently grounded, there is a grounding terminal available on
the LFP.
