Clean the air filter (10b) (Fig. 10)
ATTENTION
Fouled air filters diminish the engine output
due to reduced air supply to the carburettor.
Regular inspection is therefore essential.
ATTENTION
Never clean the air filter with petrol or combustible sol-
vents.
1. Press down the locking mechanism (10a) and open
the air filter cover (10).
2. Remove the air filter (10b).
3. Close the air filter cover (10) again to prevent foreign
objects from entering the intake duct.
4. Wash the air filter (10b) in warm soapy water.
5. Give the air filter (10b) a good rinse and let it air dry.
6. Open the air filter cover (10) and reinsert the air filter
(10b).
7. Close the air filter cover (10).
13 Transport
WARNING
Switch off the product and remove the spark
plug connector from the spark plug!
ATTENTION
Danger of burning!
Keep the hot silencer away from your body. There is a
risk of burns!
WARNING
Danger of injury!
Unintended and unexpected start-up of the product may
lead to injuries.
• Switch off the product before any transport, even over
short distances. Secure the product against tipping
over during transport (including in vehicles) to prevent
fuel loss, damage or injury.
14 Storage
DANGER
Risk of fire and explosion!
Storing the product near potential sources of ignition
can result in a fire or an explosion. This can lead to se-
vere burns or death.
Eliminate possible sources of ignition, such as fur-
naces, hot water boilers with gas, gas dryers, etc.
Store the product and its accessories in a dark, dry and
frost-free place that is inaccessible to children.
The optimum storage temperature is between 5°C and
30˚C.
Store the product in its original packaging.
Cover the product to protect it from dust or moisture.
Store the operating manual with the product.

Preparation for storage
• Never store the product with fuel in the tank inside a
building in which fuel vapours may come into contact
with naked flames or sparks.
• Allow the engine to cool down before parking the
product in enclosed spaces.
• Clean and maintain the product before storage.
• In order to avoid fire hazards, keep the engine, ex-
haust pipe and the area around the fuel tank free of
grass, leaves and leaking grease (oil).
• Outdoor storage is not advisable. Also secure the
product from unauthorised access.
Tool required:
• Collection bucket*
• Fuel extraction pump*

In case of storage over a longer period of time, the fuel
must be drained.
1. Hold a collection bucket under the hose on the fuel
extraction pump.
2. Unscrew and remove the fuel filler cap (8).
3. Push the fuel extraction pump's hose into the fuel tank
(9) and use the fuel extraction pump to drain the fuel
completely.
4. Retighten the fuel filler cap (8).
15 Repair and ordering spare parts
After repairs or maintenance, make sure that all safety-re-
lated parts are installed and are in perfect condition. All
parts which may cause injury must be kept where they
are inaccessible to children or others.
ATTENTION
According to the German Product Liability Act, no liabili-
ty is accepted for damage caused by improper repairs
or by not using original spare parts.
Such work should be performed by a customer service
centre or an authorised specialists. The same applies to
accessory parts.

NOTE
Important note in the case of repairs
When returning the product for repair, for safety rea-
sons, ensure that it is free of oil and fuel when it is sent
to the service centre.
