10.3 Priming the pump (Fig. 16)
•
Separate the suction hose (11) from the return
hose (10).
•
Place the suction hose (11) inside the paint container.
•
Place the return tube (10) inside a clean waste
container.
•
Set the prime/spray lever (19) to "prime" (Fig. 12).
•
Turn the pressure control dial (9) to the "prime/
clean" setting. Ensure the pressure control dial (9)
aligns with the mark on top of the machine (Fig. 14).
•
Turn on the machine by pressing "I" on the ON/
OFF switch (14) (Fig. 13).
•
Allow pump to run for approx 60 seconds until you
see a steady stream of paint coming out of the re-
turn hose into the waste container.
•
Set the prime/spray lever (19) to "spray" position
(Fig. 17).
•
Wait for the Air Sprayer to shut off automatically
after a few moments. If the Airless Paint Sprayer
does not shut off automatically, repeat step 4 to 8.
•
Place the return hose (10) back into the container of
paint and clip the return hose (10) and suction hose
(11) together, using the attached clips (Fig. 18).
Recommendation: It is good to practice to perform the
steps on this page using water to familiarize yourself
with the function of the Airless Paint Sprayer as well as
to ensure the unit is set up properly.
11. Operation
m CAUTION! Ensure the Air Sprayer has been prop-
erly primed before commencing spraying operations.
m ATTENTION!
Always make sure the device is fully assembled
before commissioning!
11.1 Spraying procedure
•
Make sure that the spray tip (5) is rotated forward to
the spray position with the peek side forward (Fig. 19).
•
Perform "Pressure relief procedure" (refer to 10.2).
•
Turn on the machine by pressing "I" on the On/Off
switch (14) (Fig.13).
•
Unlock the trigger locking lever (23) (Fig. 11).
•
Slowly turn the pressure control dial (9) clockwise
to the maximum setting (Fig. 20)
•
Set the prime7spray lever (19) to "spray" position
(Fig. 17)
•
Stand about 30cm away from the area to be
sprayed and maintain this distance (Fig. 21).
38 | GB
•
Pull the trigger (3) to start spraying (Fig. 15).
NOTE: The motor will cycle On and Off while spraying
to regulate pressure. This will be normal.
m IMPORTANT! When spraying is finished, perform
"Pressure relief procedure" (refer to 10.2).
m IMPORTANT! If you have not finished painting with
your Airless Paint Sprayer and want to take a short
break (30-60 minutes), do not leave paint inside the
pump. Follow the cleaning instructions (chapter 12) to
prevent paint from dying inside the pump and hose.
Once you`re ready to begin work again, begin with
chapter 9. Once properly primed again, aim the spray
gun into a waste bucket and allow 30 seconds for any
leftover cleaning solution to be flushed out of the sys-
tem. Then resume painting as before.
m IMPORTANT! Mineral Turpentine should not be
mixed with water at any stage during the cleaning pro-
cess.
11.2 Test spray settings (Fig. 22-24)
Note: Ensure you follow the "spraying procedure" in-
structions (11.1) before testing the spraying settings of
the Airless Paint Sprayer.
11.2.1 Setting the pressure (Fig. 22)
•
Set the pressure control dial (9) to a medium high
pressure. Then test this pressure setting on a
scrap piece of material (Fig. 22).
•
Adjust the pressure control dial (9) until a smooth
and even consistency is achieved.
11.2.2 Speed of stroke (Fig. 23)
Spray a test patch on a scrap piece of material, assessing
the speed of stroke required for pressure setting. (Fig. 23)
• Lower pressure will require slower stroke speed.
• Higher pressure will require faster stroke speeds.
11.2.3 Aligning the spray tip
•
Follow the "pressure relief procedure" (10.2).
•
Loosen the retaining nut (29) (Fig 24).
•
Rotate the nozzle guard (4) to match the direction
of the preferred spray pattern (Fig. 24).
•
When spray tip at the top: horizontal alignment
•
When spray tip on the side: vertical alignment
