Techniques for cutting to length
Trunk lying on the ground (Fig. I)
Saw all the way through the trunk from
above, taking care not to touch the
ground at the end of the cut. If it is pos-
sible to turn the trunk, saw through 2/
3 of it. Then turn the trunk over and saw
through the rest of the trunk from above.
Trunk is supported at one end
(Fig. J)
First saw through 1/3 of the trunk diamet-
er from bottom to top (with the top of the
blade bar) to avoid splintering. Then saw
from top to bottom (with the underside
of the blade bar) towards the first cut to
avoid jamming.
Trunk is supported at both ends
(Fig. K)
First saw through 1/3 of the trunk diamet-
er from top to bottom (with the underside
of the blade bar). Then saw from bottom
to top (with the top of the blade bar) until
the cuts meet.
Sawing on a sawhorse (Fig. L)
Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands
and guide the machine in front of your
body while sawing. When the log is cut,
guide the machine past the body on the
right (1). Keep your left arm as straight
as possible (2). Watch out for the falling
trunk. Position yourself so that the severed
trunk does not pose a hazard. Pay atten-
tion to your feet. The severed trunk could
cause injuries if it falls. Keep your balance
(3).

Requirements
To find the device in the PARKSIDE app,
the following requirements must be met:
• The PARKSIDE app is installed on your
smartphone and Bluetooth® is activ-
ated.
• The following battery is inside the
device: PARKSIDE Performance Smart
battery PAPS 204 A1 or PAPS 208 A1.
This battery is already connected to the
PARKSIDE app.
The device communicates with the app
via the battery.
Connecting the device to the
PARKSIDE app
1. Insert the smart batteries (16).
2. Press the Charge level indicator button
on the tool (18).
The "Connected" display (32) flashes
three times. When the device is con-
nected, the "Connected" indicator
lights up continuously.
3. Open the PARKSIDE app.

If the device does not appear in the
list, add the device manually.
Monitoring and controlling the
device

The device overview page is dis-

overview page.

the relevant setting is displayed.
