Procedure
1. Hold the chainsaw over a light-col-
oured surface. The chainsaw should
not touch the ground.
2. Switch on the chainsaw.
If a trace of oil appears, the chainsaw is
working flawlessly. If there is no trace of
oil, clean the oil passage or contact the
service centre.
Cleaning the oil passage
Clean the oil passage (34) to ensure fault-
free, automatic oiling of the saw chain dur-
ing operation.
Tools and aids required
• Cloth
• Brush
Procedure (Fig. H)
1. Wipe out any residue from the oil pas-
sage (34). Use a cloth or brush for
this.

Chain lubrication

NOTICE! If the chainsaw is used with
too little oil, the cutting performance and
lifespan of the saw chain will decrease
as the saw chain will become blunt more
quickly. You can recognise insufficient oil
by the smoke development or discolour-
ation of the blade bar. Make sure that
there is always oil flowing onto the chain.
The tool is equipped with an automatic oil
system. The oil flows to the blade bar (7)
as soon as the motor starts operating.
CAUTION! Switch off the tool and re-
move the batteries before carrying out any
maintenance work.
Pouring in chain oil
 WARNING! Risk of fire! Always
turn off the device and let the engine cool
down before filling with chain oil.
• Check the oil level indicator (10) regu-
larly and top up with oil once the "min-
imum mark" is reached.
48
The "minimum mark" is the lower line of
the oil level indicator (10). The oil tank
3
holds 180 cm
.
• Use bio chain oil containing additives
to reduce friction and wear. Alternat-
ively, use chain lubricating oil with a
low proportion of adhesion additives.
• Empty the oil tank if it will not be used
for a prolonged period of time (6–8
weeks).
Procedure (Fig. D)
1. Place the tool on its side with the fuel
cap (9) facing upwards.
2. Unscrew the fuel cap (9).
3. Pour the bio chain oil into the tank.
4. Wipe away any spilt oil.
5. Screw the fuel cap (9) on.
Inserting and removing the
battery
WARNING! Risk of injury due to
unintentional start-up. Only insert the re-
chargeable battery into the device once
the device is fully prepared for use.
NOTICE! Risk of damage! An incorrect
battery can damage the device and bat-
tery.
Inserting the batteries (Fig. E)
1. Push the two batteries (16) along the
guide into the battery holder (27).
You will hear the batteries click into
place.
Removing the batteries (Fig. E)
1. Press and hold the battery release (17)
on the battery (16).
2. Pull the batteries out of the battery
holder (27).
