it easier to remove the saw chain (6)
from the chain sprocket (22).
Changing the saw chain and
blade bar
Prior to changing the saw chain, the
groove of the guide rail must be cleaned
of dirt because dirt deposits available
can cause the saw chain to break out of
the rail. The deposits can also absorb the
chain oil. So the consequence would be
that the chain oil would not or only a small
part of it would reach the underside of the
rail and the lubrication would be reduced.
Requirements
• Mounting the saw chain and blade
bar, p. 49
Procedure
1. Replace the blade bar (7) and the saw
chain (6).
2. Fit the blade bar (7) and saw chain (6)
as described under Installing the saw
chain and blade bar, p. 50.
Installing the saw chain and
blade bar
CAUTION! Risk of injury due to unin-
tentional start-up. Switch off the machine.
Remove the batteries from the tool.
Procedure (Fig. B)
1. Place the tool on a level surface.
2. Turn the wing nut (11) ⭯  to remove
the sprocket cover (13).
3. Spread out the saw chain (6) in a loop
so that the cutting edges are aligned in
a clockwise direction. Use the symbol
below the sprocket (22) as a guide for
aligning the saw chain (6).
Direction of travel by
saw chain
4. Place the saw chain (6) in the blade
bar groove. To assemble, hold the
blade bar (7) tilted upwards at an
50
angle of approx. 45 degrees in order
to be able to guide the saw chain (6)
more easily onto the sprocket (22).
5. Place the blade bar (7) and saw chain
(6) on the blade bar bolt (24). If the
lug ([23) is positioned to the right of
the blade bar bolt (24) in the slotted
recess on the blade bar, the blade bar
is positioned correctly. It is normal for
the saw chain (6) to sag.
6. Put the sprocket cover (13) back in po-
sition. The chain tensioner pin (25) on
the inside of the sprocket cover (13)
must be guided into the holder for the
chain tensioner pin (26).
7. Tighten the wing nut (11) ⭮  slightly.
8. Pretension the saw chain (6) by turning
the chain tensioner screw (12) ⭮ .
9. Tighten the wing nut (11) of the sprock-
et cover ⭮ .
CAUTION! The chainsaw can be re-
oiled. Please be aware that the chainsaw
will regrease after use and may leak oil if
it is stored on its side or upside down. This
is a normal occurrence and is caused by
the ventilation opening on the top edge
of the tank which is a necessary com-
ponent; this is not grounds for complaint.
Since every chainsaw is inspected and
tested using oil during manufacture, a
small amount of oil may remain in the tank
after emptying, which may slightly dirty
the housing during transport. Please clean
the housing with a cloth.
Prior to changing the saw chain, the
groove of the guide rail must be cleaned
of dirt because dirt deposits available
can cause the saw chain to break out of
the rail. The deposits can also absorb
the chain oil. The result would be that the
chain oil does not reach the underside of
the rail – or only does so to a limited ex-
tent – thereby reducing lubrication.
