2. Step: Verification of the "master" fingerprint
Before programming any further users, first check whether the fingerprint module correctly
recognises the "master" fingerprint.
For this, the "master" finger just programmed is pulled over the sensor (for the procedure, see
chapter 9). The successful recognition of the fingerprint is then signalled by one short flash of
"LED1" and "LED2".
Afterwards, the relay "REL1" engages for approx. three seconds, "LED1" and "LED2" are perma-
nently lit again.
If recognition of the fingerprint has failed (no audible "clicking" of the relay), this is displayed by
three short flashes of the two LEDs "LED1" and "LED2".
If the fingerprint module does not recognise the "master" fingerprint at the first or second
attempt, the fingerprint module should be reset to factory settings. The data for the "master"
fingerprint are then deleted. Then start the programming procedure for the "master" fingerprint
again.
3. Step: Programming user fingerprints
After the "master" fingerprint has been programmed, the other authorised user fingerprints can
be programmed. This requires release by the "master" fingerprint to prevent the programming of
undesired users.
Programming the user fingerprint works as follows:
1. Set a jumper on "JP1". After approx. two seconds, the "LED2" goes out. "LED1" and the "Status"
display LED are lit.
2. Now release by the "master" fingerprint is required. For this, the master finger must be pulled
over the sensor (see chapter 9).
After the "master" fingerprint has successfully been recognised, "LED2" starts to light up to
display readiness for programming further user fingerprints.
3. Place the desired user finger and pull it across the sensor correctly (see chapter 9).
If the fingerprint has been read successfully, "LED2" goes out for approx. one second, and
the "Status" display LED lights up for that time. This programming process must be repeated
several times depending on the quality of the recorded fingerprints (approx. 5 times).
A double flashing of "LED1" and "LED2" signals successful completion of the programming
process of the new authorised user.
If more users are to be programmed, item 3 must be repeated.
4. Programming is completed by pulling off the jumper from "JP1". After approx. 30 seconds, the
information will have been computed and encrypted. "LED1" and "LED2" light up.
The user programming procedure is now completed and the device is ready for operation.
