8. PC Software
The evaluation unit has a USB interface to connect to a PC.
Observe that the connection to the PC must only be established when the drivers or the
software have been installed on the PC.
To operate the software, the jumpers "JP1" and "JP2" must be removed.
Further information on the PC software is found in the operating instructions on the
enclosed software CD.
Installation:
For software installation, start the programme "Setup.exe" in the root directory of the enclosed
CD. Follow all instructions of the software installation or Windows.
The required USB driver (Silabs VCP driver) is also installed now.
After installation of the software, the evaluation unit may be connected to the PC.
If new software is available, you can find it in www.sygonix.de on the product website.
Function scope:
Use of the PC software is the best and preferred operation of the system. This facilitates adminis-
tration of all taught-in fingerprints and provides the following functions.
• Detailed feedback as a help while programming new users
• Graphical illustration of the fingerprints with the possibility of saving as an image file
• Programming or deleting individual users
• Assignment of the names and switching outputs to the users
• Direct switching function for the three switching outputs
• Recording of log files about access attempts
• PIN request as access protection
• Setting the relay switching times in the range of approx. 0.5 to 30 seconds
• Archiving the users on the hard disc (this also permits distribution among several units)
