1. Step: Programme Master Fingerprint
Special situation of the "master" fingerprint
• Later programming procedures can only be initiated after confirmation of the master fingerprint!
This must be observed when choosing the corresponding user, to warrant protection against
programming of undesired persons.
• The first programmed fingerprint is automatically specified as the "master" fingerprint.
• Exchange of the "master" fingerprint (e.g. against the fingerprint of another user) is only pos-
sible in the PC software.
Programming the "master" fingerprint works as follows:
1. Remove the jumpers from "JP1" and "JP2". "LED1" and "LED2" must be lit now.
2. Set a jumper on "JP1". After approx. 10 seconds "LED1" goes out, the "Status" display LED
comes on. This indicates the start of the programming process for the "master" fingerprint.
3. Position the respective finger in the sensor housing up to the deep stop as usual and touch
the two metal strips of the sensor. Then pull the finger out as described in chapter 9.
If the fingerprint has been recorded successfully, "LED2" will go out for approx. one second,
while the "Status" display LED lights up for this time.
If programming has not been successful (e.g. because the finger was pulled over the sensor
incompletely), "LED1" and "LED2" will flash thrice briefly and the process (only item 3) must be
repeated.
This programming process must be repeated several times depending on the quality of the
recorded fingerprint (approx. 5 times)!
A double flashing of "LED1" and "LED2" with an interval of approx. half a second signals suc-
cessful completion of the programming process of the "master" fingerprint. "LED1" remains lit.
4. Now remove the jumper from "JP1". After approx. 30 seconds, the information will have been
computed and saved encrypted in the fingerprint module.
"LED1" and "LED2" now light up again.
5. The programming procedure for the "master" fingerprint is now completed.
