the manufacturer, as well as the dimensions specified in
the technical data, must be observed.

5. Safety instructions
m WARNING - Read all safety information, instruc-
tions, illustrations and technical data for this prod-
uct.
Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in
electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
Protect yourself and your environment from accidents
using suitable precautionary measures.
General safety rules
• The unit must not be modified. Modifications reduce
the effectiveness of the safety measures and in-
crease the risk of injury.
• Never use a damaged device.
• Use and maintain the device as recommended in
this operating manual to minimise dusts or gases,
sounds and vibrations.
• Keep compressed air universal tools away from chil-
dren.
• Do not operate the device when idle to prevent un-
controlled ejection of the chisel.
• Use consumables and the machine tool as de-
scribed in this operating manual to minimise dusts
or gases, sounds and vibrations.
• The machines must be maintained at regular inter-
vals to check that the rated properties and mark-
ings are legible on the machine as required by the
attached part of ISO 11148. If necessary, the em-
ployee/user must contact the manufacturer to obtain
replacement labels for marking the machine.

Hazards due to ejected parts
• Disconnect the compressed air connection and de-
pressurise the device before maintaining, repairing,
transporting or carrying out a chisel change on the
device.
• Please note fragments of the workpiece, accesso-
ry parts or inserted chisel may fly off quickly when
chiselling.
• Always wear shock-resistant safety goggles. The
level of protection required should be assessed sep-
arately for each individual use.
• Wear a safety helmet when working above your
head. Also be aware of the risk to other persons from
falling workpiece parts.
• Make sure that the workpiece is securely fixed in
place.
• Make sure that the chisel used is attached securely.
• Only use a suitable tensioning spring (5) (included in
the scope of delivery). Replace the tensioning spring
if it is worn, broken or bent to prevent injuries.
• Hold the chisel used against the workpiece before
activating the device.
• Only use the recommended lubricant (see mainte-
nance and care).
• Never touch the chisel during and after operating the
device. You could injure your fingers or hands. The
chisel can become hot.
Hazards during use
• Using the device can cause bruising, abrasions,
cuts and burns. Wear gloves.
• Operators and maintenance personnel must be
physically able to handle the size, weight and power
of the machine.
• Unexpected movements of the machine or breaking
of the chisel can result in serious accidents. There-
fore, always ensure that you have a safe and firm
footing so that you can control the device and main-
tain your working posture even in the event of unex-
pected movements.
• Release the trigger lever (2) if the air supply is in-
terrupted.
• Wear the appropriate protective clothing, in particu-
lar shock-resistant safety goggles, hearing protec-
tion and protective gloves when working with the
chisel hammer.
Hazards due to repetitive movements
• Working with the chisel hammer can cause discom-
fort in the hands, arms, shoulders, neck or other
body parts.
