Example: If the knot is moved down the change from 3:1 to
2:1 ratio will occur sooner, so the full travel will be shorter
over a higher loading. Conversely, if the knot is moved up the
2:1 ratio will be engaged later, resulting in a lengthening of
the speed system travel.
An ideal setting of the 2 stage system provides an easy-moving 3:1
initial stage when the legs are bent, then an effi cient 2:1 fi nal stage as
the legs straighten.
The SIGMA 7 speed system is so designed that the same wing pro-
fi le shape is maintained throughout the changing angles of attack in
accelerated fl ight. This means that the good qualities of the profi le re-
main effective at higher speeds.
