A GENERAL
Please read these instructions thorough-
ly before using this product and follow all
the information contained within. Failure to
observe these instructions can lead to a
reduction in the protection this product pro-
vides.
Please note: mountain climbing and indoor
climbing are high-risk sports which can
involve unforeseeable dangers. Your deci-
sions and activities in this sport are your
own responsibility. Please familiarise yourself
with all associated risks before attempting
climbing of any sort. SALEWA recommends
that before attempting any climbing, you
should obtain training and advice from suita-
bly qualified persons (for example mountain
guides or climbing teachers). In addition it is
the user's responsibility to keep himself or
herself informed of the correct techniques
for carrying out safe rescue operations. The
manufacturer bears no liability in the case
of any misuse or abuse of this product. Also
check for the appropriate certification of all
other pieces of equipment.
B INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Dynamic ropes according to EN892 are
intended for the dynamic safeguarding of
persons when climbing and mountaineering.
The correct use is shown in diagram B.
WARNING: We have not shown all possible
misuses.
Rope types
Single rope: can be used as a single strand.
Half rope: can only be used as a double
strand, whereby either both rope strands are
guided together through a securing point or
individually through parallel securing points.
A half rope can also be used to belay two
climbers.
Twin rope: can only be used as a double
strand, whereby both rope strands are guided
together through common securing points.
Warning: twin ropes may never be used indi-
vidually.
Unrolling the new rope.
In order to avoid tangling, the rope must be
unrolled carefully when initially used. After
opening the rope lashing, insert both under-
arms opposite through the rope roll. Then
rotate the underarms around each other in
order to slide the end of the rope on to the
ground. Whilst doing this, retain the constant
outward pull. After unrolling the rope another
twice or three times metre by metre, draw
through and shake lightly at the same time
in order to get rid of any possible tangling.
Roping up
The recommended knot for binding is the
figure of eight knot. Check your knot before
climbing.Top-roping
Before climbing, ensure that the rope length
is sufficient and secure the end of the rope
against slipping.Abseilen
When joining two ropes, ensure that the
diameters are compatible. Secure the end of
the rope with a knot. Avoid very fast abseilen:
the danger of burns and excessive wear
of the rope exist. Performance details (see
packaging)

C SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Ensure that the rope diameter selected is
compatible with the devices used.
We recommend the exclusive use of moun-
taineering equipment which meets the cor-
responding standards, e.g. EN 566 for quick-
draws and EN 12275 for carabiners.
ATTENTION: The smooth surface of new ropes
can reduce the braking efficiency of safety
equipment. Therefore, be particularly care-
ful the first times you use it! Ropes with a
particularly small rope diameter also require
increased handling care because they are not
easy to hold with the hand.
Snow, ice and damp can influence the han-
dling and firmness of the rope.
Before and after each use, check the full
length of your rope for damages: ensure that
there are no cuts, burnt areas, frayed threads
or roughened, linty places on the coating.
Scan the rope for lumpy or hard places under-
neath the rope coating.
SALEWA recommends documenting the use
of your product in a diary. Enter the date,
duration and nature of application as well as
any peculiarities in the diary.
WARNING
· High temperatures, sharp edges, and contact
with chemicals (for example acids) must be
completely avoided. Pay attention that only
moderate speeds are used when abseiling, to
avoid excessive heating of the ropes.
· UV-light and abrasion reduce the strength.
· If there is the least doubt about the safety of
the product, it is to be replaced immediately.
The instructions for use supplied with the
product are always to be stored with the
product. This product is only to be used
by appropriately trained and/or competent
persons, or when the user is under the direct
supervision of such a qualified person.
D LIFESPAN
The lifespan of the product is dependent on
a number of factors, such as the manner and
frequency of use, UV exposure, moisture, ice,
affects of weather, storage conditions, and
dirt (sand, salt, etc.). Under extreme condi-
tions the lifespan can be reduced to a single
usage or even less, if the equipment has suf-
fered damage (for example during transport)
before ever being used. Please note: Products
manufactured from synthetic fibres are sub-
ject to ageing even when not used. This
ageing depends mainly on environmental
conditions as well as the impact of UV light.
SALEWA explicitly recommends replacing any
safety equipment (PSA/PPE equipment) after
a maximum of 10 years from the date of pro-
duction, regardless of whether the product
has been used regularly or not.

E STORAGE, TRANSPORT AND CARE
See diagram E for guidelines on correct stor-
age and care.
Do not store close to sources of heat, or at
extreme temperatures or subject to mechani-
cal force (with kinks, under compressive load,
under tension) The product should NEVER
come in contact with corrosive chemicals
such as battery acid, solvents, or chemical
salts.
