Please now follow our instructions for handling
windows no. 141 to 145:
Cut out the windows, fit them into the window
openings and wash the plastic with a household
detergent. Plastics easily become electrically
charged. This static electricity can cause the
superglue needed for gluing to splatter and
deposit on the windows. To avoid this, rinse the
windows after cleaning, do not dry them, but place
them on a cloth and let them dry on their own. Any
rubbing with a cloth recharges the windows
electrically.
Place the windows in the openings lying on their
sides. Start by inserting the PVC cable 146 at the
top and apply tiny drops of superglue one piece at
a time into the joint between the wood and the
frame as shown in Fig.19.
Use a pin or similar to apply the adhesive. The
nozzle of the glue bottle is far too large for the
sparing application of glue required here.
The curtain rod 147 and the panel 148 are glued
together, primed and painted.
Cut out the curtains from transparent decoration
napkins, available in stationery shops, and glue
them to the back of the blinds with sparingly
applied super glue according to fig. 20.
Prime, paint and glue on stern tube panel 149 and
stern tube support 150.
Assemble the prop shaft from parts 151 to 156
and install it according to fig. 21.
Glue the brass parts door handle 157, flag pole
base 158, handrail base 159, hook base 160 and
lamp pole base 161 each with super glue.
Complete the flagpole 162 and 163 with the flag
heads 164 and cleats 165, and paint them.
After painting, attach the flag rope and the flag,
parts 166 to 168.
According to the plan, bend the handrail 169, the
lamp hook and the lamp post 171 and glue them
into the corresponding sockets.
Paint the cleats172 and the cross bollards 173
brass-coloured and glue them on with superglue
according to plan 1. Drill holes of 2 mm Ø for the
bollards.
Now follow minor work such as attaching the
decal 174, rolling and gluing on the mooring rope
175 according to plan, gluing on the compass
177, and hanging up the two hand lamps 178.
Complete the rudder with parts 179 to 183. Angle
the end of the push rod by 90° and insert it into a
hole in the rudder lever. From below, place the
adjusting collar 181 with grub screw 182 on the
end of the push rod and secure it.
The reversing valve of the steam engine, which
you screw onto the foundation, is connected to the
servo with the push rod 186 and clevis 187. The
deflection of the reversing lever should be 90
degrees.
Before you add the necessary ballast, please bear
in mind that the trim position of the model may
change if you buy accessories that are not
included in the kit.
When you have decided and these parts are
installed, trim as follows:
1. fill gas tank
2. fill steam boiler with water
