 During the transport with the transportation carriage the hydraulic unit has to be clamped securely by
authorized personal or tightened with screws on the platform.
 The oil tank must be sealed by the locking screw during the transport of the hydraulic unit. The
hydraulic unit must not be transported with mounted breather oil cap.
 Cable and hydraulic tubes must not be damaged.
 During transport and installation of the machine and/or hydraulic aggregate wear suitable safety
shoes.
 The crimping machine is supplied with the hydraulic unit "AT-66 hydraulic unit" from TE. No other
hydraulic unit is allowed to be used.
 Position the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 on a flat surface and assure the stability of the machine.
Ensure that the table or bench is stable enough to support the machine in normal use (Fig. 7.01).
 Assure an appropriate table height. The table height is depending on the position of the operator (work
in sitting or standing position) according to prEN 894-4:2004, Table A.1.
 The crimping machine does not have its own light source. Assure an appropriate illumination of the
working place. (EN 1837:1999 – chapter 4.2: "The general value of illumination has to be 500lx [...]")
 The hydraulic aggregate has to be placed near the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66, so that the electric
main switch is always in the reaching area of the hands of the user.
 Place the tubes and cables on the floor so that they do not cause a trip hazard.
 Do not lay the foot switch in aisles or walk ways.
 Assure free access to the operating elements of the machine, especially the foot switch, the release
button and the main control switch. In the case of imminent danger immediately press the release
button. The release button must be within the direct reach of the operator. It must not be covered.
 Before starting maintenance, disassembly/assembly or repair work, the hydraulic unit must be
disconnected from power supply. Touching live parts can cause danger of electrocution with fatal
consequences!
 Maintenance work may be performed only by authorized and properly trained personnel. The housing
and the covers in particular may only be removed by specially trained personnel.
 Due to the risk of hand or finger injury, never try to reach into the machine before having assured that
the hydraulic unit is disconnected from the power supply.
 Disconnect the hydraulic unit from the power supply by operating the main control switch and pull out
the power plug, before mounting or changing the safety guard, die adapter and die set.
 Before commissioning the machine, it is always important to check whether all safety devices,
especially the safety guards and die adapter, are installed and are functioning correctly.
 Exercise caution at any time when the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 is connected to the power
supply.
 The crimp machine is only allowed to be used with mounted die sets, die adapter and the suitable
safety guard. Pay attention to the correct assignment of adapter to safety guard!
 The hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 may only be set up and operated in perfect technical condition,
observing all the safety regulations and considering any possible dangers.
 The crimp machine is only allowed to be used when it is in complete functional condition.
 Check the release button before starting the work on the crimp machine.
 The "UP" and "DOWN" arrow buttons used for the setting of the crimp height will move the machine
head. Ensure that the head is free to move to the desired position without hindrance or damage to
persons or tooling.
 In cases of a machine malfunction, production must be stopped and the malfunction must be fixed
before continuing work with the machine.
 Only one person is allowed to work on or with the machine.
 Only trained personal are allowed to work on or with the machine.
 When working with the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66, do not wear loose clothing, jewellery or long,
loose hair that can get caught in the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66.
 Bleeding and calibration work may be performed only by authorized and properly trained personnel.
