General Information / Product Description / Function

When the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 is used in accordance with the instruction for use, it is safe to
operate. If the safety precautions and the warnings are not strictly observed the employment of the
hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 could be dangerous.
CAUTION!
 The hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 is only allowed to be operated with a mounted
adapter, die set and the suitable safety guard.
The hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 is a hydraulic press for the TE interchangeable crimping-system and
designed as a complete table top unit. With the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 the most common
terminals on the market can be crimped with the TE interchangeable crimping-system.
All other applications of the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 are only permitted with a written permission
of the manufacturer. For all unauthorised applications of the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 the
manufacturer cannot be held liable for any resultant damage or injury.
According to the type of terminal an interchangeable suitable crimping die is selected and installed into
the die holders. By pressing the foot switch, the crimping cycle of the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 is
activated.
In case of blocked jaws caused by operation or handling errors or wrongly placed terminals, press the
release button to open the jaws.

Safety

4.1

Designed Use

- Realization of connections by crimping a terminal to a cable
The hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 is designed for use with the adapters described in chapter 8.1. The
adapters should only be used with the dies specified by TE. The hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 with the
adapter and dies should only be used for creating crimped connections up to 300 mm² cross section!
4.2

Predictable Misuse

Every application which is not mentioned in chapter 4.1 „Designed Use".

The hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 is supplied with the hydraulic unit "AT-66 hydraulic unit" from

TE. No other hydraulic unit is allowed to be used. The hydraulic unit is only allowed to be used with
the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66.
4.3

Responsibilities

The user of the hydraulic Crimp Machine AT-66 is responsible for making sure that all persons involved in
any way, either in the installation or in maintenance of the machine, have been thoroughly trained on the
system using the this instruction manual.
