5 PLOUGHING THE FIRST FURROW
Depending on ploughing the first furrow in
the area of hedges, fences or other
obstacles or for example in the area of
ditches, it will be decided if the FixPack
must be swung in or not.
If the FixPack must be swung in for the
first furrow, the first furrow must be
ploughed right handed.
If the first furrow must be ploughed in the
area of hedges, fences or other obstacles
the roller and the arm must be swung in.
Therefore the plough frame will be turned
in left handed working position.
Now the locking pin (18) will be unlocked
and the roller turned by 90°. Initially the
outer end of the roller will be swung to the
front in the direction to the plough. Lock
locking pin (18) again. Check whether the
pin (18) is engaged correctly. After that
lock axle (20) by means of pin (21). The
plough frame will be turned in right handed
working position then. Now the adjusting
device (6) will be unlocked by means of
locking pin (14), the arm (4) with roller (9)
swung in and by means of the locking pin
(14) locked in this position. Check whether
the locking pin (14) and pin (21) are locked
correctly. Now the first furrow can be
ploughed.
• The roller (9) of the integrated packer FixPack is now positioned
in a „swung-in" position. In this position the pin (21) must never
be unlocked, as the centre of gravity is raised. The locking pin
(21) may only be operated if the roller is hanging free i.e. can
swing. This is only possible in left handed ploughing position.
After the first furrow has been ploughed, the arm (4) will be swung out again, the
plough turned into left handed working position, the roller turned into working po-
sition and the pin (21) unlocked.
