Noise level

Excessive noise can result in a loss of hearing.
Keep the noise level and vibration to a minimum!
• Only use devices which are free of defects.
• Maintain and clean the device at regular intervals.
• Adapt your working methods to the device.
• Do not overload the device.
• Have the device checked if necessary.
• Switch the device off if it is not in use.

8. Unpacking

• Open the packaging and carefully remove the device.
• Remove the packaging material, as well as the pack-
aging and transport safety devices (if present).
• Check whether the scope of delivery is complete.
• Check the device and accessory parts for transport
damage. In the event of complaints the carrier must
be informed immediately. Later claims will not be
recognised.
• If possible, keep the packaging until the expiry of the
warranty period.
• Familiarise yourself with the product by means of the
operating instructions before using for the first time.
• With accessories as well as wearing parts and re-
placement parts use only original parts. Replace-
ment parts can be obtained from your dealer.
• When ordering please provide our article number as
well as type and year of manufacture for your equip-
ment.

The device and the packaging material are not
children's toys! Do not let children play with plas-
tic bags, films or small parts! There is a danger of
choking or suffocating!

Before commissioning

Fitting the handle (Fig. 2)
• Screw the handle (1) onto the grinding head (16).

Fit the adjusting screw for the depth stop (Fig. 2)

• Turn the depth stop set screw (5) through the thread-
ed hole on the top of the unit.

Fitting the chain tensioning unit (Fig. 3)
• Loosen the locking nut (9) of the chain tensioning
unit (11).
• Place the chain tensioning unit (11) on the grinding
base (10) and screw it tight with the locking nut (9).
Fitting the adjusting screw for the chain stop (Fig. 3)
• Turn the chain stop set screw (12) through the thread-
ed hole on the side of the chain tensioning unit (11).

The device must be firmly attached to a workbench or
table for safe handling.
The grinding base (10) must protrude over the edge
of the table. Use both fixing points for this purpose.
However, make sure that the recess for the saw chain
and the access to the locking nut (9) remain free.
Tip: In addition, we recommend a rubber pad for noise
and vibration reduction (not included in the scope of
delivery).
Place the device in a place that meets the following
conditions:
• non-slip
• vibration-free
• even
• clean and dry
• free from tripping hazards
• adequate lighting conditions

10. Commissioning

Switching on and off (Fig. 8)
• To switch on, press the on/off switch (17) (position
"I"), the device starts up.
• To switch off, press the on/off switch (17) (position
"0"), the device switches off.
