INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION
These installation and operating instructions for rapeseed header extensions of CLAAS combines is intended for the user. The
procedures to be followed in order to commission, operate, control and maintain the machine are described.
These instructions are only valid in connection with the corresponding operating instructions of CLAAS grain headers and
combines.
Before operating or controlling the machine, read these operating instructions (the chapter "Safety Measures" in particular). The
terms "RIGHT" and "LEFT" refer to the forward direction of travel of the machine. In order to obtain further information about the
machine, please contact the representative of the Ziegler GmbH company. The sellers have qualified employees, ORIGINAL
spare parts and equipment, all of which are essential for any services.
1.1
Support
Both the company Ziegler GmbH and the authorised sellers endeavour to ensure that the purchaser is satisfied with the
machine purchased. In the event of a problem, please contact the service department of our company. In order to obtain
additional help, the seller may contact our company.
1.2
Serial Number of the rapeseed header extension
The serial number is specified on the left side wall of the machine.
Please state the machine type, serial number and year of manufacture when making a complaint and ordering spare parts. You
will find this data on the type plate.
In order to make ordering as easy as possible for you, we recommend that you enter the data of your machine in the table
provided below so that this data will always be available to you.

Guarantee
For the machine, guarantee services are granted according to valid regulations and the contract concluded with the seller. Any
guarantee, however, will not be accepted if the machine was not used, maintained or modified in accordance with these
operating instructions.

General information
The reduction in crop losses depends on the respective mechanisation of harvesting. Studies carried out to establish the
reasons for rapeseed losses have shown that traditional harvesting methods make a significant contribution to such losses. The
limitation of losses contributes to yield increases and also improves the performance of the combine.
When harvesting, the decrease in rapeseed losses using the combine can be reached by means of a grain header that has
been adapted accordingly. The adaptation with an active crop divider is intended to extend the grain header. Thus, the speed of
the combine can be increased by 30 %, and the rapeseed loss is reduced up to 250 kg/ha. The harvest that has been pre-cut by
means of the vertical side knife and cut by means of the horizontal knife is placed straightforward on the long table with the
husks being directed in the direction of the charging device. Without causing any clogging and with minimum losses, the mass is
regularly passed on to the threshing unit. The successful collaboration between the cutting and the threshing unit ensures
maximum effectiveness of the combine.

Keep in mind! Limit use of the winder to a minimum.
-
The winder causes additional rapeseed losses.
-
Only work with the winder if the mass movement of the cut harvest is disturbed or if the harvesting conditions are
unfavourable.
