– Do not use while charging is in progress.
– Only use with covers supplied by Össur.
– Always use with covers to avoid risk of electrostatic build-up and discharge.
– Do not use oil-based lotions on the skin, e.g. Vaseline.
– Do not expose electrode to dirt or fluids.
Batteries:
– Only use Össur batteries with this device.
– Only use the Össur charger to charge Össur batteries.
– Make sure the battery is not subject to continued pressure once fitted.
– Batteries are to be replaced annually.
– If the battery has visibly ballooned or swelled:
• discontinue the charging process immediately
• disconnect the battery
• remove to a safe area
• leave and observe for 15 minutes
• replace with new battery
• do not re-use
• dispose of any leaking batteries in an appropriate manner
– If the device will not be used for a long period of time, it is advisable to remove the battery from the prosthesis.
POWER
Batteries
The device can be employed for up to 600 full opening and closing cycles from a single charge of a set of 800mAh
batteries. The number of open and close cycles achieved will vary depending on battery age and device use. After
one set is drained, the batteries can be easily swapped to the back-up set.
Batteries are placed into the battery case on the wristband, where they are secured by the holding catch located
towards the wrist. Release the holding catch to remove the battery (Fig. 3).
Each battery is equipped with an LED indicating the charge level of the battery. When the battery charge level is low,
the LED will light up red. The LED will stay lit until the battery has been charged to an adequate level.
Charging the Batteries
Charging time: 90 minutes to 3 hours.
Remove the batteries from the wristband and insert into the charger base unit. Connect the charger base unit with
the power cable. Plug the power cable into the power outlet.
The charging state is indicated on the back of the base unit (Fig. 4):
– Middle light on: Charger is plugged in.
– 2nd and 5th lights flashing green: batteries are charging.
– 2nd and 5th lights solid green: batteries are charged.
– 1st and 4th red lights on: battery fault, unplug and try again. If lights continue to illuminate, contact your
clinician.
Turning On/ Off
– Turn the device on by pressing the wristband button; the LED will light up for several seconds to indicate
power is on.
– To turn off, press the button again; the LED will light up for a short moment.

There are various control options for accessing automated grips on i-Digits devices. Control options vary between
different models.
