Check the cable-strain relievers on the hoses.
Check the hoses and the hose couplings for damage. Check
the hoses for blistering.
Check for leaks.
Check the oil level on the maintenance unit.
Run a functional test, see ' 9.4 Commissioning,
Functional test' on page 12.
Record the inspection results in the logbook.
10.2 Operation
Danger of being injured by falling objects!
The load or load lifting equipment may jam and fall!
Constantly observe the load, the load lifting equipment
and rope.
Work with a supervisor whenever necessary.
Agree upon hand gestures before commencing use.
If visual contact is not possible, use a mobile phone or
walkie-talkie for communicating.
Never stand beneath suspended loads.
Cordon off the dangerous area whenever necessary.
Risk of crushing! Risk of injury!
Between the load lifting equipment and structure or parts of
the hoisting gear!
Do not lean out of the load lifting equipment when moving.
Watch out for obstructions and protruding objects.
On the rope and wire rope hoist!
Never touch the rope whilst the hoist is in operation! Do
not reach into the inlet or outlet of the hoist.
Risk of falling! Danger of being injured by falling objects!
Overloading can result in destruction of the hoist or the safety
devices! This can result in malfunctions!
Always observe the maximum permitted load rating when
loading the load lifting equipment.
Do not release stuck or jammed loads by pulling with the
hoist.
Do not pull loads with hoists for raising and lowering di-
agonally.
Avoid excessive inching/jogging (e.g. giving the motor
short impulses).
Moisture can impair the effectiveness of the brake!
Do not clean the rope and hoist with a high pressure
cleaner.
Hoist XA 2050 with overload shut-off:
The XA 2050 P hoist may not be operated via the control
lever on the hoist. The control valve on the hoist disables
the load limiting device (in the pushing system on the
hoist). Remove the control lever.
Frostbite! Burns!
Metal brackets and the motor can be cooler than 0°C or
warmer than 55°C depending on the operating conditions.
Rev. 08/2010
DANGER!
Frostbite or burns are possible.
Wear suitable safety gloves when operating the equip-
ment.
Do not touch the metal parts.
Danger of malfunctions and accidents caused by incor-
rect working pressure!
Insufficient working pressure can impair the hoist's functions.
The brake can scrape and close.
The controls react sluggishly and with a delay.
LA 500 P, XA 300 – 1030P:
Excessively high working pressure can cause danger due to
overloads. The load limiting device reacts more slowly.
Regularly check the working pressure on the pressure
regulation valve while the hoist is running.
ATTENTION!
Incorrect rope lengths!
Damage to the equipment may occur!
The rope connection or the load bearing point or the rope end
must not be pulled into the hoist housing or into the deflection
roller!
Monitor the load during operation.
Use a rope with adequate length.
Switch on the operator-side compressed air supply.
Slowly open the shut-off valve on the maintenance unit.
Always observe the maximum permitted load rating when
loading the load lifting equipment.
Danger of being injured by falling objects!
Secure loads against falling.
Secure loads against twisting.
Switch the hoist over to the pulling direction until the rope is
under tension.
Run the hoist in the pulling direction until the load lifting
equipment is raised or pulled.
Let down or release load.
Observe the end of the rope when lowering or slackening.
If damage or loops und knots in the rope are detected:
Stop immediately: Release the control lever.
Observe the operator's emergency rescue plan.
If the rope / hoist does not stop when the control lever is re-
leased:
Close the shut-off valve on the maintenance unit.
Relieve the pressure in the supply hose to the motor by op-
erating the control lever.
