4.2. Cleaning instructions
General
As with any medical device, when using the Samoa
system, certain hygienic procedures are required for
safe reuse on the patient. Reusable products must
have safe disinfectability to exclude any risk of
infection from subsequent users / patients. The
regulations of the Medical Devices Act stipulate that
for such medical devices disinfection activities with
procedures according to the RKI guideline are to be
carried out in analogy to the methods of surface or
instrument disinfection. Sterilization of the products
listed below is not necessary.
The Samoa system is a medical device that is in the
patient's environment when used as intended, with
direct contact with the hands of the staff and the
patient. These products are therefore classified as
so-called
"non-critical
accordance with the guidelines for hospital hygiene
and infection prevention.
The cleaning and disinfection instruction for the
device can be found in the "Hygiene Plan Sonata /
Scala / Samoa", which can be requested from
authorized dealers.
Warning:
No liquid should enter the device or plug connec-
tions. The sensors must not be immersed in liquid.
Before cleaning, close the pressure connections of
the device with caps!
Disconnect the charging and data cable from the
device before each cleaning.
