5.2.2 Function phase sequence test without
accessible electrode (ROTATION)
This function needs to be selected before operating;
„rot" appears in the upper part of the display.
With the MultiSafe DSP 3 you can perform phase
sequence tests in earth-connected or non-earthed
mains without using the accessible electrode.
For the function „phase sequence test" pole contact
is not necessary. During testing you may wear safety
gloves.
The testing range is 20 - 1200 V AC / 50 Hz
- Identify the outer conducter by using the pole
detector or by bipolar testing against earth.
- Press button F to start testing. The display
shows „rdy" and „– U –" which signalizes
readiness for testing.
- Measure the first two phases, e.g. L1 to L2.
Afterwards the display shows „chang" and
„L2". Switch over to the next phase with
hand gear L2 within 5 seconds.
The measuring device must remain at the
initial phase.
- As soon as the hand gear L2 was changed the
display shows the first measured phase:
„RiG" for a clockwise or „LEF" for a counterclock
wise rotation.
When the rotation is clockwise the triangle
lights up additionally. A switch back to
previous phase is not possible.
5.2.3 Function main frequency test (FREQUENCY)
As long as you hold the button F pressed,
frequency of the measured voltage is indicated
in Hz or kHz on the display.
Note:
With measurings of more than 500 V in
frequency ranges > 4 kHz parasitic coupling may
affect indication on the LCD display.
Reduce this effect by holding the DSP only on the
sides of the casing.
