1. Application
The MultiSafe DSP 3 is a two pole voltage tester
with digital display, combined with an integrated
continuity, phase and polarity tester, frequency and
a phase sequence indicator. It complies with EN/IEC
61243-3. It allows safe detection and measurement
of AC and DC voltages within a range of 8 to 1000 V
at frequencies of up to 10 kHz. Resistance within a
range of 0 to 6000 kΩ can also be measured with the
integrated continuity tester. Voltage and resistance
values appear in digital form at the display.
In addition to this, 5 LEDs and a tone generator
indicate voltage, phase, rotating field and continuity.
The MultiSafe DSP3 can be used in the rain thanks to
IP 65 protection.
2. Safety Precautions
You have decided on an instrument which provides
you with a high level of safety. When used for its
intended purpose, safety of the operator, as well as
that of the instrument, is assured.
In order to maintain flawless technical safety
conditions, and to assure safe use, it is impera-
tive that you read these operating instructions
thoroughly and carefully before placing your
instrument into service, and that you follow all
instructions contained therein.
The instrument provides excellent electrical safety
with the two series resistors immediately down-
stream from each of the test electrodes.
The MultiSafe DSP3 voltage tester has been appro-
ved by VDE test authorities for application of the
VDE GS-symbol.
Observe the following safety precautions:
The voltages indicated on the MultiSafe DSP 3
are rated voltages. The voltage tester may
only be used in systems working within these
rated voltage ranges.
Faultless indication of display values is only
guaranteed between -10° and +55°C.
Hold the instrument by the handles only, to
avoid covering the display and not touching
the test electrodes before and during tests.
Just before they are used, voltage testers
need to be checked to ensure they function
correctly. Carry out the function test and
check the instrument at a known voltage
source - e.g. a 230 V socket. If indication of
one or several systems fails in the course of
checking, the instrument must not be used
again.
The ProfiSafe LSP 3 must not be switched on
for more than 2 minutes.
