Programmings < 12 bits for the Number of revolutions produce leading "zeros",
Programmings < 16 bits for the Number of steps per revolution produce
added "zeros".
The number of data bits required for the programmed total number of steps must be
typed in exactly.
As transmission code Binary must be selected.

6.6.8 Data bits SSI-interface
The parameter Data bits SSI-interface defines the number of reserved bits for
the measuring system position. Special bits are not contained in it and will be output
after the data bits.
Thereby in the transmission format "No special format" the position of the 2
position bit to the MSB-bit is defined.
In case of the transmission format "Check sum 28..." the number of data bits
required for the programmed total number of steps must be typed in exactly.
In order to avoid position differences between PROFINET and SSI interface, the
exact number of SSI data bits must be programmed. The number results from the
programmed Total measuring range, see page 114.
