Click the battery pack e into the appliance.

Press the release button 7 and remove the
battery pack e.
Checking the battery charge level

To check the battery status, press the battery
charge level button 0.
The status/remaining charge is shown on the
battery display LED 9 as follows:
RED/ORANGE/GREEN = maximum charge
RED/ORANGE = medium charge
RED = low charge – charge the battery
Getting started
Switching on and off
Switching to continuous operation:
First, press the ON/OFF switch 1 to the right

so that you can then press it forwards, as indi-
cated by the arrow of the ON/OFF switch 1.
Switching off continuous operation
Press the ON/OFF switch 1 to the rear and

downwards and release it.
Setting the cutting depth
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

Always switch off the appliance and remove
the battery before carrying out any work on
the appliance.
Loosen the screw 3 to adjust the depth stop 4.
♦
Move the depth stop 4 to the desired position,
then retighten the screw 3. Before beginning
work, ensure that there is sufficient space below
the workpiece so that the cutting bit does not
accidentally make contact with the surface
beneath it.

Cutting process
Set the desired cutting depth as described above.

Switch on the appliance and wait until it has
reached full speed.
♦
Hold the appliance firmly.
♦
Guide the appliance carefully along the work-
piece.
♦
Complete the operation at a uniform speed and
contact pressure.
Maintenance and cleaning
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! Always
switch off the appliance and remove
the battery before carrying out any
work on the appliance.
The appliance is maintenance-free.

The appliance must always be kept clean, dry
and free from oil or grease.
■
Never allow liquids to get into the appliance.
■
Use a dry cloth to clean the housing. Never use
petrol, solvents or cleansers which can damage
plastic.
■
If a lithium-ion battery is to be stored for an
extended period, the charge level should be
checked regularly. The optimum charge level is
between 50% and 80%. The optimum storage
environment is cool and dry.
■
The carbon brushes should only be replaced by
the service centre or an authorised specialist
workshop.

Replacement parts not listed (such as switches)
can be ordered via our Service Hotline.

Have your appliances repaired by the
Service Centre or a trained electrician, and
use only original spare parts. This will ensure
that the safety of the appliance is maintained.

If the mains cable requires replacement,
this should be carried out by the manufac-
turer or an approved representative to
avoid safety hazards.
