h) Auto Power Off Function
The DMM turns off automatically after 30 minutes if no button or rotary control is operated. This function protects the
battery, saves battery power and extends the operating time.
The switch-off time can be set between 1 and 60 minutes in the SETUP (see chapter 10), or the function can be
deactivated.
To reactivate the DMM after automatic shutdown, use the rotary control or press any key.
The Auto-Power-Off function is deactivated when the interface is activated so that the data connection is not interrup-
ted. This function remains inactive until the interface is switched off again.
i) Display Illumination
The display is lighted automatically in bad lighting.
The illumination turns off automatically after 5 minutes if no button or rotary control is operated. This function protects
the battery, saves battery power and extends the operating time.
The switch-off time can be set between 1 and 60 minutes in the SETUP (see chapter 10), or the function can be
deactivated.
j) Optical Interface
An optically isolated interface is located at the top of the meter. It serves to transfer data to a computer for further pro-
cessing.
The data connection with a free USB interface of your computer can be established with data cable included in the
delivery.
For this, plug the interface cable into the socket of the optical interface (10) above the casing.

10. SOFTWARE INSTALLATION

1. Insert the CD into the CD-ROM of your computer.
2. The installation will start automatically. If not, please go to your CD-ROM directory, and open the installation file
"autorun.exe".
3. Select your desired language from German, English and French.
4. Follow the instructions on the dialog box, select the destination for the installation and complete the installation.
5. For further information, please refer to the operating instructions on the CD provided.
6. The enclosed software is the Voltsoft standard edition. The professional version (Voltsoft Data Logger, No. 10 13 33)
is an optional item which you can purchase separately. If you purchase the professional version, you will get the
license key. Follow the steps in the Voltsoft user manual to register and upgrade your software to the professional
version.
Note: Voltsoft software updates to the latest version of the Voltsoft program are available when the program is running
and the Internet is connected; or check for the latest Voltsoft update via "http://www.conrad.com".
