1.1 Notes on the operating
instructions
 These operating instructions apply for following de-
vices:
• ATMOS LC 16 / G .............
with glass jar 1 l
• ATMOS LC 16 / K ..............
with TPX plastic jar 1.25 l
• ATMOS LC 16 / R ..............
with disposable Receptal
In combination with the accessories mentioned in chapter 9.0
as well as for all identically constructed devices with special
voltages.

These operating instructions contain important notes on
how to operate the ATMOS LC 16 safely, correctly and
effectively. Therefore, they are intended not only for new
operating personnel to be instructed in its use, but also
for use as a reference manual. Following the operating
instructions will help you to avoid risks, reduce repair costs
and down-time and increase reliability and service-life
of the equipment. These operating instructions must
always be kept available near the equipment.
Prior to first use please read chapter 2.0 "For your safety",
to understand and avoid possible dangerous situations.
The basic principles are:
Judicious and careful work provides best protection
against accidents!
Operational safety and readiness for use depend not only
on your capabilities, but also on care and maintenance
given to the ATMOS LC 16. For this reason regular clea-
ning and service work are a must. Major maintenance and
repair work may be carried out only by expert personnel
authorized by ATMOS. In case of repairs you should
insist that original spare parts only are used to continue
the warranty and ensure the operational safety and rea-
diness of the unit.
 The product ATMOS LC 16 bears CE-0124 marking ac-
cording to the EEC guideline of the council for medical
products 93/42/EEC and meets the basic requirements
of annex I of this guideline.
 The quality management system used at ATMOS has
been certified for quality management in accordance with
the relevant international standards EN ISO 9001 and ISO
13485.
 For authorised servicing, ATMOS provides servicing
instructions with detailed descriptions of circuits, setting
instructions and servicing information.
These operating instructions correspond to the design

of the device and the status of basic safety engineering
standards on going to press.
 Reproduction of these instructions – even in part – only
with the written permission of ATMOS.
