3) When servicing the cutting device, bear in mind that even if the engine will not start due
to the guard locking option, the cutting device can still be moved by a manual starting
mechanism.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS - FIRE PREVENTION MEASURES

1) It is advisable for vehicle personnel to be familiar with the main intervention techniques in
the event of a fire.
2) All fuels and most lubricants and hydraulic fluids are flammable.
3) Do not smoke when refuelling or resetting the fluid level, do not refuel near open flames,
do not siphon fuel.
4) Switch off the machine engine before refuelling, do not refuel in enclosed spaces.
5) Before starting the machine's engine, check for fuel/lubricant/fluid leaks or residues that
could cause small fires.
6) Do not store flammable substances in unsuitable places, do not puncture or burn
pressurised containers or canisters, do not store materials soaked in flammable
substances.
7) Take care where rags or replaced material containing flammable residues are stored.
8) To minimise the risk of combustion, clean the machine periodically with appropriate
equipment (compressed air).
9) Use appropriate extinguishing media: carbon dioxide, foam, chemical powder.
10)
Avoid the use of water jets. Use water jets only to cool surfaces exposed to fire.
11)
Never use petrol, solvents or other flammable or toxic fluids to clean mechanical parts:
use approved commercial solvents that are non-flammable and non-toxic instead.
12)
Use only approved containers;
13)
Never remove the fuel cap or add fuel when the engine is running.
14)
Before refuelling, allow the engine and exhaust accessories to cool down;
15)
Never leave the machine or the fuel container inside where there are open flames;
16)
If fuel leaks, do not attempt to start the engine, but move the machine away from the
spillage area before starting;
17)
After refuelling, always close the cap and secure it firmly;
18)
If the fuel tank is emptied, this should be done outdoors.
15.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS - TEMPORARY STORAGE

If the machine is not to be used for long periods, it must be stored in a place sheltered from
the weather and protected against damage. Before storage, it is advisable to clean the entire
machine thoroughly and to lubricate all mechanical parts adequately to protect it from rust.
Ensure that the storage temperature is between 0 °C and 50 °C.
Before putting the machine to rest for long periods, the following steps should be taken:
-
Switch off the engine, remove the spark plug cap or disconnect the power cable from the
socket;
-
With the engine switched off and cold, empty the petrol tank and keep away from heat
sources, sparks and open fires;
-
Clear the cutting chamber and the cutting mass of any shredding residue;
