SAFETY REQUIREMENTS - OPERATION

1) Before starting the machine, check that the feed chamber is empty;
2) Keep face and body away from the supply opening;
3) Do not place hands or other parts of the body or clothing inside the feed chamber,
emptying chute or near moving parts;
4) Always maintain correct balance and stability. Do not stretch. Never stand higher than the
base of the machine when inserting material into it;
5) Always stay away from the discharge area when operating the machine;
6) When inserting material into the machine, be very careful not to include pieces of metal,
rock, bottles, cans or other foreign objects;
7) Should the cutting mechanism hit foreign objects or should the machine start to make
unusual noises or vibrations, switch off the engine and stop the machine. Disconnect the
spark plug wire from the spark plug or unplug the power cable from the socket and take
the following measures:
8)
Check the damage;
9) Check and tighten any loose parts;
10)
Have any damaged parts replaced or repaired with parts of equivalent specification.
11)
Do not allow processed material to accumulate in the discharge area; this could prevent
proper discharge and cause material to flow back through the feed opening;
12)
If the machine becomes clogged, switch off the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire
or unplug the power cable from the socket before removing the fragments. Keep the
engine free of debris and other accumulations to prevent damage to the engine or a
possible fire.
13)
Remember that operating the start mechanism on motor-driven machines starts the
cutting device;
14)
Keep all guards and baffles in place and in good working order;
15)
Do not tamper with the engine controller settings; the controller controls the safe
maximum operating speed and protects the engine and all moving parts from damage
caused by increased speed. Contact authorised service if a problem occurs;
16)
Do not transport this machine when the engine is running;
17)
Switch off the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire or unplug the power cable from
the socket every time you leave the work area;
18)
Do not tip the machine when the engine is running.
13.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS - MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

1) When the machine is stopped for servicing, inspection or storage, or to change an
accessory, switch off the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug or
unplug the power cable from the socket, ensure that all moving parts are at a standstill
and remove the key where it is inserted. Allow the machine to cool down before
inspections, adjustments, etc.
2) Store the machine where fuel vapours do not reach open flames or sparks. For long
storage periods, leave the unit empty of fuel. Always allow the machine to cool down
before putting it into storage;
