9 Measuring and testing

9.1 Selecting modes with SMART mode

Switch to SMART mode to let the multimeter select the suitable measuring/testing
mode. For example, if you connect the probe tips to the plus and minus poles of a
battery, the multimeter automatically switches to the DC voltage measuring mode.
The below table shows which measuring/testing modes the SMART mode sup-
ports. If a mode/range is not supported, you can select it manually.

1. To activate SMART mode, press and hold the button SMART until the display
shows "---".
2. To deactivate SMART mode, press the button SMART to select any mode.
