8 Getting started
8.1 Installing batteries
1. Remove the screw from the battery compartment with a suitable screwdriver.
2. Remove the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert one AAA-size battery into the compartment. Observe the correct polarity.
4. Attach the battery compartment cover and tighten the screw.
WARNING! The open battery compartment can expose voltage-carrying
components. Danger to life from electric shock! Always attach the cover
before operating.
8.2 Switching on/off
1. Press and hold the power button for 1 second to switch on.

The display lights up.

The multimeter switches off automatically after 10 min. of inactivity (you will
be reminded by a beep shortly before).
2. Press and hold the power for 1 second to switch off manually.
Note:
Replace the battery if the low battery indicator shows on the display.
8.3 Disabling/enabling auto-off
If the automatic shutdown feature (auto-off) is enabled, the multimeter switches off
automatically after 10 min. of inactivity. Auto-off is enabled every time you switch
the multimeter on. Disable "auto-off" if you want to keep the multimeter switched
on until you switch it off manually.
To disable auto-off:
1. Press and hold the power button and the button LIVE/NCV until you hear 3
beep sounds.
