6.3 User requirement

The multimeter must only be used by people who are familiar with the relevant
regulations and understand the potential hazards. The use of personal protect-
ive equipment is recommended.
■
In schools, educational facilities, and hobby and DIY workshops, digital multi-
meters must be used under the responsible supervision of qualified personnel.
■
For use in industrial facilities, follow the accident prevention regulations for
electrical systems and equipment issued by the national safety organisation or
the corresponding national authority.

6.4 Operating environment

■
Do not take measurements in potentially explosive areas.
■
Do not take measurements in damp rooms or highly humid areas.
■
Do not take measurements in areas affected by thunderstorms.
■
Do not take measurements in areas with strong electromagnetic fields.
■
Do not take measurements in dusty areas.
■
Do not take measurements in areas where vapours, solvents or flammable
gases are present.
■
Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
■
Protect the appliance from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable
gases, steam and solvents.
■
Protect the product from high humidity and moisture.
■
Protect the product from direct sunlight.
■
Do not switch the product on after it has been taken from a cold to a warm en-
vironment. The condensation that forms might destroy the product. Allow the
product to reach room temperature before you use it.
