Channel control
The overview of all 256 DMX channels available is located in the bottom right screen section. This
screen section is subdivided into four areas:
at the bottom are the selection buttons, which are used to select the individual channels. This has
already been addressed in the "Channel Groups" chapter.
Directly above are the faders used to activate and deactivate the channels or to set the desired DMX
value.
Directly above the faders are the display fields. They show the exact position of the controller. When
clicking on this field once, the fader can be changed to a value between 0 and 255. To be able to
manually enter a DMX value, click on the field with the right-hand mouse key, then enter the desired
value (between 0 and 255) in the text input field.
The numbering of the channels from 1 to 256 is shown in the top position of this screen section. These
fields are not only intended for information, but they are also buttons used to make further channel
settings. When you click on one of these buttons, a text input field will appear again. In this window the 3
setting described in the following can be made.
4.5.1
Channel settings
Collision channel
This window allows you to set a channel, which you want to behave in exactly the same manner as the
one to be processed.
This permits you to have two units run synchronously.
Example: You have composed a group containing channels 1, 3, 5, and 7. As a collision channel, you
enter 13 in channel 1. If you now move the fader of channel 1, you see that the yellow bar in the fader of
channel 7 will also move upwards. The fader head remains in its position.
If you have set a collision with channel 7 in channel 1, channel 7 will behave in the same manner as
channel 1. This will not be the case, however, if you have set a collision with channel 1 in channel 1,
which means that you can change settings in channel 7 without these changes affecting channel 1.
Switch
If you tick off this field (simply by a mouse click), you can set this channel either to "On" or to "Off". As
an example, this setting should apply as in the "Collision channel". If you have activated the "Switch"
field and move the fader upwards, the yellow bar will only appear when you have exceeded the middle
of the controller. The display fields will only show the two values "0" and "255".
