8.1.2 Display messages for errors
of the power amplifier
LINE: 1
AMP ERROR
Fig. 113 The corresponding power amplifier (in this example, the
amplifier for line / zone 1) does not work anymore.
If no functional spare amplifier is available, the speakers in the
respective zone will not work anymore!
SPARE AMP
AMP ERROR
Fig. 114 The spare amplifier does not work anymore.
In a pure announcement / alarm system, the failure of the spare
amplifier will not constitute a major problem provided that
it is the only error; the alarm functions will not be directly
affected. However, depending on the system configuration,
it may be possible that measurements cannot be completed
while microphone announcements are being made or music
is being played.
When, however, a standard amplifier fails as well, entire
speaker groups or even the system as such will not work
anymore.
8.1.3 Display messages for errors
of the fireman's microphone(s)
FIRE MIC 1
REQUEST
Fig. 115 There is a short circuit or interruption in the switching line of
the microphone connected to the terminals Fire Mic (30) on
the rear side of MEVAC-4. Result: When the talk button is
pressed, the microphone signal will not be sent to the speaker
lines assigned.
FIRE MIC 1
COIL
Fig. 116 There is a fault in the coil of the microphone connected to
the terminals Fire Mic (30) on the rear side of MEVAC-4. The
fireman's microphone will not work in case of an alarm.
Analogous messages will be shown for the fireman's micro-
phone FIRE MIC 2 connected to the jack FIRE MIC (1) on the
front side of MEVAC-4.

8.1.4 Display messages for errors of the alarm line

ALARM 1
REQUEST
Fig. 117 There is a short circuit or interruption in the switching line
connected to the terminal EMY 1 (26) and used to trigger the
stored alarm message in case of an alarm. Result: The alarm
message cannot be triggered.
The message ALARM 2 of the input EMY 2 (27) is analogous
to the message ALARM 1.

8.1.5 Display messages for speech memory error

MP3 TEXT
ERROR
Fig. 118 There is a fault in the internal memory card used to reproduce
the alarm messages. Result: The messages and signal sounds
stored cannot be reproduced when needed.

8.1.6 Error message for power failure

POWER FAIL
Fig. 119 The unit is not provided with 230 V~ anymore. The internal fuse
has blown or there is a failure of the 230 V mains power supply.
When a 24 V emergency power supply is available, the unit will
continue working for a limited period of time. Depending on
the capacity, age, history and charging status of the batteries,
the alarm or even the entire system will fail at some point. Even
when the mains power is available again, it will take some time
for the batteries to be fully recharged.

8.1.7 Error message for low battery voltage

BATT. VOLTAGE
Fig. 120 The voltage of the 24 V emergency battery is less than 20 V.
The system will work properly as long as mains voltage is availa-
ble. However, if there is also a power failure, MEVAC-4 will fail.
