5.4.1 Connecting the microphone MEVAC-1FT/-1FH

Connect the microphone directly to the jack FIRE MIC located
on the front side or, via the connection box MEVAC-1CON
(fig. 22) to the connections FIREMIC (fig. 21). To connect two
microphones, use the jack FIRE MIC and the connections
FIREMIC at the same time.
Use the 4-wire signal cable JYSTY-2208 (100  m) from
MONACOR or another appropriate signal cable as the con-
nection cable. CAT cables are not suitable.

5.5 Connecting external detectors

The detection connections EMY 1 and EMY 2 will trigger stored
alarm messages and preliminary alarm messages. By install-
ing resistors, the detection line will be monitored constantly.
Depending on the number of detectors (single detector or mul-
tiple detectors), the circuits and the values of the resistors vary:
The following figure shows the external contact circuit for a
single detector:
Fig. 23 Operation with a single detector for each trigger input
Contact EM Y1 for the preliminary alarm, EMY 2 for the
main alarm
As an alternative, two 10 kΩ resistors can be connected for a
single detector (see fig. 24):

When multiple detectors are connected to a single trigger
input, SPDT switches (single pole, double throw) must be used
and connected as follows. Make sure to connect the switches
in series so that any interruption of the detection line will be
recognized. Connect a 10 kΩ terminating resistor (R
line termination.

Special feature
If an emergency message is triggered by a contact and if the
line of the detector is then destroyed, e. g. by fire, the mes-
sage continues to be reproduced. It can now only be stopped
and started directly at the unit with the button PROGRAM.
Therefore, when the reproduction of a message, for example,
has been triggered by a detector, it will not be stopped by the
failure of the detection line.
