8 Error Messages

Every 15 seconds, the MEVAC-4 system will check its own
functions and the functionality of the units connected. De-
pending on the error type, it may take 75 seconds before an
error is indicated.
Internal or external errors are indicated as follows:
An acoustic alarm sounds (called "Siren" on the display)
The red LED ERROR on the front side starts flashing
The fault relay is energized (to route an error message to an
error management centre, for example)
The display shows an error message:
ZONE 1
SYSTEM: ERROR
Fig. 101 Error message
To switch off the acoustic alarm, proceed as follows:
1) Use the red button PROGRAM to call up a selection menu:
T1=ERROR
T3=PROG.
Fig. 102 Selection menu
2) Use the button T2 to call up the following reset menu:
T1=SIREN OFF
T2=LINE RELAIS
Fig. 103 Reset menu
3) Use the button T1 to switch off the acoustic alarm.
ATTENTION It is not possible to reactivate the acoustic
alarm for the current error!
Once the current errors have been eliminated, the messages
will be terminated and moved to the section "PREV. ERRORS"
in the error memory. The system will then again work as de-
fined during the installation run.
ATTENTION As soon as MEVAC-4 detects a short circuit on
a speaker line, it will disconnect the line by means of a relay
to protect the power amplifier. The disconnected speaker
line will not be automatically connected after the error has
been eliminated.
Perform a RESET to reactivate a disconnected line:
1) Use the button PROGRAM to call up the selection menu:
T1=ERROR
T3=PROG.
Fig. 104 Selection menu
2) Press the button T2 to call up the reset menu:
T1=SIREN OFF
T2=LINE RELAIS
Fig. 105 Reset menu
3) Press the button T2 to reactivate the disconnected speaker
lines. The display will indicate the idle state:

IMPORTANT When an error message appears in the
MEVAC-4 system, immediately contact the installer of
the system or the specialists who are in charge of system
maintenance.

8.1 Reading the error memory

The errors can be shown on the display:
1) Press the button PROGRAM to call up the selection menu:
T1=ERROR
T2=RESET
T3=PROG.
T4=MP3 CARD
Fig. 107 Selection menu
2) Press the button T1 to call up the error selection menu:
T1=ACTUAL ERRORS
T2=PREV. ERRORS
Fig. 108 Error selection menu
3) ACTUAL ERRORS: After the button T1 has been pressed,
the display will show the current error (if there is any). If
there are multiple errors at the same time, the respective
error texts will appear one after the other on the display.
When all current errors have been shown, the display will
indicate the idle state again. This will also happen when
there is no current error. The errors can be viewed as many
times as desired.
4) PREV. ERRORS: After the button T2 has been pressed, the
display will show any errors that previously occurred. If there
are multiple previous errors, the respective error texts will
appear one after the other on the display. When all previous
errors have been shown, the display will indicate the idle
state again. This will also happen when there is no previous
error. The errors can be viewed as many times as desired. The
"previous errors" will be deleted during an installation run.
