7.2.2 Systems with a single power amplifier

In the second example, the system just includes a single power
amplifier. The audio channel CH1 is connected as an audio
output; the output of the power amplifier is connected to all
100 V inputs. For selection of the speaker line, the function
RELAY is used ("inverted logic": relay activated = no sound).

Operation with a single power amplifier
1) In such a system, the spare amplifier can assume a particular
task: If the system is set up with a single power amplifier
only (as shown in fig. 82) and if, during normal operation,
background music is only sent to line 1, the speakers of the
lines 2 – 4 will not be monitored. This monitoring task can be
assigned to the spare amplifier; to define this assignment,
use the function RELAY in the assignment menu.
2) Adjust the AUDIO setting to channel 1 as this is the only
audio output to which a power amplifier is connected.
Activate the appropriate RELAY for all outputs that are not
to receive the desired signal; this will switch these outputs
to the spare amplifier.
3) Use the button T3 in the AUDIO menu to go to the input
field. (When the menu is called up, the cursor will be on
zone 4; with each press of the button T3, the cursor will
go to the next zone; after zone 1, zone 4 will be selected
again. The zone currently selected will be indicated by an
underscore and a blinking cursor.)
4) Use the button T4 to activate or deactivate the respective
zone. (When the zone is activated, the corresponding digit
will be visible; also see chapter 7.2).
5) Proceed in the same way to make the programming in the
RELAY menu.

Example for talk button 1
In the example of figures 83 and 84, the announcement started
with talk button 1 is made in line 1 only; the other zones / lines
will be switched to the spare amplifier for monitoring.
