The video surveillance system AVSET-400COL is suit-
able for wireless indoor and outdoor surveillance. It
consists of a receiver and a colour camera of the type
AVC-400COL with integrated microphone and trans-
mitter in a splashproof housing (IP 44). The system
can be extended to a maximum of four cameras of the
same type.
The transmission range largely depends on local
conditions. In the open space it can extend up to
100 m, in buildings the transmission range is smaller
according to the condition of the walls.
The receiver has an audio output and a video out-
put for video and audio surveillance on a monitor or for
video and audio recording on a video recorder. An AV
connection cable with phono plugs is included in the
delivery.
3.1 Approval
The approval for the wireless camera is valid accord-
ing to the R+TTE directive (radio and telecommuni-
cation technical equipment) in the countries of the
European Union. For the operation in countries out-
side the EU please ask your retailer or the MONACOR
subsidiary of the corresponding country.
4 Presetting of the Units
4.1 Setting of the transmitting channel
To set the transmitting channel of a camera, remove
the rubber plug on the lower side of the camera. Select
the transmitting channel with the DIP switches (7):
O N DIP
O N DIP
1 2 3 4
1 2 3 4
Channel 1
Channel 2
If several cameras are used, observe that all cameras
are set to different transmitting channels. Then place
the rubber plug again for protection.
4.2 Setting of the receiving channels
At the receiver the receiving channels have to be set
according to the transmitting channels of the cameras
used. For this purpose set the switches "CH" (1) on the
rear side of the receiver to the lower position "ON", the
numbers of which correspond to those of the transmit-
ting channels.
Example for the setting of the receiver if two cameras
are used which transmit on channel 1 and channel 3:
1 2 3 4
O N
8
O N DIP
O N DIP
1 2 3 4
1 2 3 4
Channel 3
Channel 4
5 Placing of Receiver and Camera
To avoid heat accumulation, the location for the re-
ceiver must be selected so that during operation suf-
ficient air circulation is ensured.
As the transmission range largely depends on the
local conditions, a test run should be made prior to
fixed mounting of the camera (for this see chapters 6
and 7). The camera is supplied with a bracket for wall
or ceiling mounting. For easier mounting the camera
should first be removed from the bracket (10) by
screwing out the two setscrews (8). After mounting the
bracket, place the camera in the bracket again and
only fix it with the setscrews until it is still possible to
align it.

6 Connection of the Units

6.1 Monitor or video recorder
For audio and video surveillance connect the inputs of
a monitor or the AV input of a TV set via the supplied
cable to the jacks VIDEO (2) and AUDIO (3) on the
rear side of the receiver. The jacks AUDIO (3) both
supply an identical mono signal in spite of the de-
signations L and R.
For video and audio recording the jacks AUDIO and
VIDEO can alternatively be connected also to the
audio and video inputs of a video recorder.
6.2 Power supply
Connect the DC plug of each supplied power supply
unit to the inline jack (11) of the camera and to the jack
DC 9V (4) of the receiver. Then connect each power
supply unit to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).

7 Operation

After all connections have been made, switch on the
receiver with the on/off switch (5). The POWER LED
on the front side lights up.
If the surveillance system is not used for a longer
time, disconnect all power supply units from the mains
sockets as they continuously have a low current con-
sumption (even if the receiver is switched off).
7.1 Aligning of the camera
Align the camera(s) so that the desired surveillance
range can be seen on a connected monitor. After
aligning secure the camera(s) against displacement
by means of the setscrews (8).
7.2 Automatic picture sequence switching
The receiver is equipped with an automatic picture
sequence switching. As soon as more than one re-
ceiving channel has been selected at the receiver (see
chapter 4.2 "Setting of the receiving channels"), the
unit switches cyclically between the received pictures.
