Unplug the control unit before
Caution
any work is done on the pump!
Please follow all safety instruction in Chapter 1.
The Aqualift F tank should be pumped empty
before any maintenance work is done – this will
prevent water from leaking out of the tank.

4.1 Removing the pump

The pump can be removed by unlocking the
one-handed closure that secures the pressure
pipe and the three turn fasteners. This can all be
done quickly without the use of any tools. The
non-return flap in the pressure pipe of the Aqualift
F prevents any wastewater in the pressure pipe
from flowing back into the tank. (Illustration 9).
4.2 Maintenance
Before any work is done on the pump it should be
completely removed from the tank and cleaned.
Any maintenance must be handled by a qualified
professional. Repairs should only be handled by
the manufacturer or a licensed representative of
the manufacturer.
General Maintenance
According to DIN 1986-3 maintenance from a
qualified professional should take place at the
following intervals:
For single homes the maintenance should take
place every 12 months, and multi-family homes
every 6month.
For commercial applications the maintenance
should take place every 3 months.
This maintenance should consist of a visual in-
spection of all system parts. The system should
be checked for build up and worn out parts. The
following listed parts should also be visually in-
spected and cleaned / replaced if build up / da-
mage is noted:
- Macerating system
- Ventilation opening
- Pressure connection
- Pressure sensor
- Tank

4.3 Maintaining the integrated non-return flap
Remove the pump. Drain any water out of the
pressure pipe by carefully opening the non-re-
turn flap. After removing the pump coupling (by
loosening the screws) the non-return flap can be
removed. It is also advisable at this stage to in-
spect and clean the pressure pipe since it is fully
accessible now.
4.4 Installing the pump
Before re-installing the pump, clean and lubricate
all seals and sealing areas. Reinsert the pump as
shown in Chapter 2.4.
4.5 Checking the pressure sensor
Remove the transparent pressure hose from the
tank and check to make sure the hose has free
passage all the way to the control unit. Remove
any condensation water if present. Remount
the hose. Remove the immersion pipe by unlo-
cking the one-handed closure and pulling it out
of the tank. Check the immersion pipe for debris
or blockages. Insert the immersion pipe with its
opening pointed down into a bucket of water. If
the pump activates then the pressure sensor is
in operating order. If the pump does not activate
please contact KESSEL Customer Service.
Caution
Before placing the immersion
pipe back into the tank, the tank must be pum-
ped free of water so that the switching levels re-
main properly calibrated.
4.6 Checking the optical sensor
Unscrew the two optical sensor screws and re-
move the sensor. Place the sensor into a bucket
of water – if the pump activates and the LED on
the control unit lights, the system is in operatio-
nal order. Remount the optical sensor and secure
with the two screws. Acknowledging any malfun-
ctions on the control unit can be handled as sta-
ted in the control unit user manual.
