Switching the hob off

WARNING
Risk of burns!
During use, the glass ceramic hob and
the parts which you can touch may be-
come hot. You must take care in order
to avoid touching the heating elements.
Make sure that children aged 8 or

younger are not able to access the
glass ceramic hob if they are not su-
pervised.
The cooking zones remain hot even
■
after they have been switched off;
this is indicated by the fl ashing resid-
ual heat indicator 'K'.
Please note that the residual heat in-
■
dicators go out if there is a power cut
and may therefore no longer indicate
residual heat.
• Touch the sensor 8, in order to switch the
entire hob off.
An audible signal will be heard; all of the
LED displays except for the residual heat
displays 'K' will go out.

Automatic protection settings

The hob has a range of automatic protec-
tion settings which are intended to prevent
the hob from becoming damaged during op-
eration. If it is properly installed and utilised,
these protection settings will rarely be used.
Using the hob
Automatic reduction in
performance
The temperature of the electronic elements
inside the hob are constantly measured us-
ing a sensor. If the heat increases too rap-
idly, the level in the cooking zone where the
electronic elements are likely to overheat will
automatically reduce or the elements in the
adjacent cooking zone to the one where the
elements are overheating will be automatical-
ly switched off. In an extreme case, the hob
will be completely switched off automatically.
Once the electronic elements have once
again cooled sufficiently, the level will once
again be restored to the original setting.

Operating time limit

For your safety, all of the cooking zones are
equipped with an operating time limiter. If the
level has not been changed for a prolonged
period (see the following table), the cooking
zone will be automatically switched off and
the residual heat indicator will be activated.
The maximum operating duration will be set
in accordance with the most recently select-
ed level.
