After completing the gas connection,
check the cooker is gas sound with a
pressure test. When checking for gas
leaks do not use washing up liquid -
this can corrode. Use a product spe-
cifically manufactured for leak detec-
tion.
Pressure testing
The gas pressure can be measured
at the injector of one of the centre hot-
plate burners. Remove the pan sup-
port, burner head and cap. The injec-
tor is now accessible.

back of this book for test pressures.
Reassemble burner top, making sure
it is reassembled in the correct way
on the burner body.
Electrical Connection
This appliance must be installed by a
qualified electrician to comply with the
relevant regulations and also the local
electricity supply company require-
ments.

Note
The cooker must be connected to the
correct electrical supply as stated on
the voltage label on the cooker,
through a suitable cooker control unit
incorporating a double pole switch
having a contact separation of at
least 3mm in all poles. This cooker
must not be connected to an ordinary
domestic power point.
The total electrical load of the appli-
ance is approximately 7.2kW. The ca-
ble size used should be suitable for
this load and comply with all local re-
quirements.
Access to the mains terminal is
gained by removing the electrical ter-
minal cover box on the back panel.
Connect the mains cable to the cor-
rect terminals for your electrical sup-
ply type.
Check that the links are correctly fit-
ted and that the terminal screws are
tight. Secure the mains cable using
the cable clamp.
Current Operated Earth Leak-
age Breakers
Where the installation is protected by
a 30-milliamp sensitivity residual cur-
rent device (RCD), the combined use
of your cooker and other domestic
appliances may occasionally cause
nuisance tripping. In these instances
the cooker circuit may need to be pro-
tected by fitting a100mA device. This
work should be carried out by a quali-
fied electrician.
Hotplate
Check each burner in turn. There is a
flame safety device that stops the
flow of gas to the burner if the flame
goes out. For each burner, turn the
control knob to the solid flame sym-
bol. Press in the control knob. This
lets gas through to the burner. Keep
holding the knob pressed in and
press the igniter button or light with a
match. Keep holding the control knob
pressed in for about 10 seconds.
If when you let go of the control knob
the burner goes out, the safety device
has not held in. Wait one minute then
try again this time holding the control
pressed in for slightly longer.
Oven check
The clock must be set to the time of
day before the ovens will work.
See the 'The clock' section for how
to set the time of day.
Turn on the ovens and check that
they start to heat up.
Check that the oven lights are work-
ing.
NB. The oven light bulb is not in-
cluded in the guarantee.
Turn off the ovens.

Fitting the plinths
The cooker is supplied with two stain-
less steel side panel extensions, a
black front plinth with stainless steel
end feet and a stainless front plinth
trim plate.
Fitting the side extensions
(optional)
If the installed height of the cooker is
less than 910mm to the hotplate sur-
round, or the distance from the bot-
tom of the side panel to the floor is
less than 60mm, the side extension
should not be fitted. If the cooker is in-
stalled between 2 units the side ex-
tensions are not necessary.
Hook the tab on the rear of the side
extension into the channel on the
back of the cooker and fix in place us-
ing one of the supplied screws.
At the front, hook the side extension
under the protruding screw and fix in
place by fitting a screw in the lower
hole. Don't tighten the upper screw - it
must stand proud so that the front
plinth can hook onto it.
Fit the other side extension if re-
quired. Push the cooker back into po-
sition.
